Ellie's Walking Video

Ellie's Walking

EVERYWHERE! I am trying to get a video uploaded but am having trouble... I didn't think this would happen so soon. I promise to be back on my normal blogging routine once work settles down a little... It's crazy this year and I am up to my eyeballs in college admissions!

Hodge Podge

Hodge Podge of pictures from the last few weeks... Nothing major to report. We've had a lot of falls as Ellie begins to figure out walking - busted lip and bruises all over her face and head. She's pretty tough from all the hard falls.

I definitely am in the busy season of work, and my days and nights are filled with high school seniors and parents of high school seniors. Oh, I could write a book on what I hear from this generation of students (and parents). I have learned so much about parenting from the parents I work with on a daily basis.

Walker Baby

One perk of my job... Free baby clothes courtesy of some of my high school counselors. I have told all of them that Ellie will definitely sport these outfits for her admission into their preschool program when the time comes!

One step at a time...

Ellie took her first step completely by herself! We are by no means "walking" yet, but she is definitely close. She easily pops up and down, and is able to stand by herself for short periods of time. It cracks me up that her little body will be toddling around our house soon. We are yet to baby proof our drawers, cabinets, etc... I guess we better get on that soon! I need to get some pictures uploaded from the last two weeks. My work schedule is insane right now, but I feel bad looking about my boring blog from the last week... Promise to get yall some new pictures soon... Hang in there with me!

Why did you go private?

I have been meaning to put this out there to all of you, but work is INSANE right now. I am sure you all can relate to the busy seasons (wait - they are all busy now with a child) we have in our lives!

So, why did I go private? When I first started blogging many moons ago, I thought some of my blog friends were crazy for making their blogs "private". My original thought was, "hello, it's the www, anyone can find out information on you"... And that is still true, however, I can do my very best to not open myself, or Ellie, up to it more than I have to.

I never really knew who read my blog... I would occasionally get a comment here or there from real life friends, but I was guessing it was mostly my family and close friends that followed our blog. I then started seeing the little trackers pop up on people's pages and decided to put one on mine! WOW - didn't realize people outside of the southeast were reading much less outside the US! That bothered me a little, but not to the point of going private.

In August, I logged into my account and found that my blog had been taken down. I contacted Google thinking I had done something wrong and was informed my blog was being "hacked" by someone in South Korea... Scary. I quickly made the changes they suggested, and kept the thought of going private in my mind... My final decision was made a couple of weeks ago after I received several comments from people that I did not know (and live outside the US) referencing Ellie and personal events as if we were close friends. That freaked me out a little more than I was comfortable with so the reason I am now private!

I knew going private meant a lot of people wouldn't keep up with us anymore... I was surprised to know so many of you follow up and like to keep up with Ellie! I am very excited now knowing exactly who I am talking to.

Ellie's First Auburn Football Game

I braved taking Ellie to Auburn, and attempted the game with her. Jay had to stay back and work a lot of events, so we decided to pack it up and head to the Plains. We had such a good time with the Henderson Family. I am so thankful to have helpful hands with Ellie. We made it through the first quarter and then headed home for baths and bedtime for the little ones.

Loved seeing these two boys!

10 months old

2 months away from the 1st birthday!!! I love this age and stage with Ellie. She has such a sweet personality and LOVES to be on the go - just like her Momma and Daddy! I think she may have a touch of her Daddy's ADD. She will not sleep longer than 30 minutes at school. On the weekends (at home), she goes down for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. I guess at school there is too much going on and she's afraid she'll miss something!

Weekend with Pop and MiMi

What Ellie's up to now...
-Walking with anything she can push around the room
-Crawling until she can get to something to pull up on
-Saying Ma Ma, Da Da, Na Na, and Ba Ba
-Says something that resembles "thank you" if you say it to her
-First boo boo - fell on the payment pushing her firetruck
-COMPLETELY on formula - So excited to be done nursing/pumping
-Eating snacks - puffs, yogurt melts, peas
-Drinking out of a sippy cup
-Meals - 4 bottles (7 oz) and 3 main meals
-Sleeps 12 hours most nights (except on weekends when we are out later)
-Gives hugs
-Loves being outside
-6 teeth (possibly some more starting to come through)
-Adores Sophie (and any other dog)

Can Peter please come inside to play?

Please?

School Days, School Days, Dear Old Golden Rule Days

We are back in the swing of "school" for Ellie and Momma! Ellie is now in the older infant class with 3 of her classmates from last year. This year's class ages are 6 - 12 months. We LOVE LOVE LOVE her teachers. She had them a little this summer, and she gets so excited in the mornings when she sees them. I am blown away at their lesson plans for the week. It makes it so much easier dropping her off each morning knowing how much she is doing and learning. I know I would never do nearly as much as they do. We sure do miss one of Ellie's friends who moved up to the toddler class. They see each other on the way out each day and automatically start clapping and cheering. We (the mom's) were talking this afternoon and they hugged each other... wish I would have had a camera! It was priceless! I guess she really is making friends.

Another Shot before school - bless her heart
