We're still here...

Thanks for all your comments, calls, and prayers. It definitely makes me excited to see comments from all of you. We had a good day, and made some progress. Ellie is content where she is, so we will start again tomorrow with the induction. Please pray for a restful night and Ellie's arrival tomorrow! Looks like we'll have a Halloween Baby! Love you all!

Ellie is on the way!!!

Yep, that's right! Our sweet little girl will be here soon. You are probably wondering why in the world are you blogging... Well, I am being induced due to low fluid so the official induction will not start until tomorrow morning so I am bored! Excited we have wireless, and that Grey's comes on tonight!

Please pray this will go as planned. We are flooded with emotions right now and know God is in complete control. I (or Jay) will keep you all updated.

All our bags are packed... We're ready to go!

We are ready, but Ellie is not quite ready to make her appearance. I still have about 2 1/2 weeks to go, and I have a feeling she will be a due date baby. My doctors have no plans for induction before your due date. They said if she is not here by my due date, then they'll induce. I really want her to come on her own so we are doing lots of walking and physical activity to try to speed this process up! My belly is so big at this point that I really don't think she has much more room to grow... She movements are so different now than a few months ago.

Bags packed and ready

Going Home Outfits - depends on her size on what she'll wear home!

Thank you all for the prayers, emails, and calls regarding my Dad. He is doing great, and the surgery was a success! Praise the Lord!

Waiting Game

Sorry for the slight delay in blogging... Not much "fun stuff" to report the last couple of weeks. I have always heard the last 4 weeks seem like the longest in the pregnancy. I feel like this past week crawled along for me. I finish up travel for work this week, so I am sure week 38, 39, and 40 will be very slow.

We've had back-to-back weekends with "no plans" which meant getting the house ready for Ellie. We cleaned out the garage... washed all her clothes, sheets, towels... Finished her nursery... Cleaned out cabinets... deep-cleaned the kitchen... picked up some last minute things from Babies R Us and Target... and got lots of rest!

I did have a minor fender-bender 2 weeks ago that resulted in me having to be admitted to the hospital for observation. I was fine, but being this far along they wanted to monitor Ellie and make sure everything was okay. There is no way I could be on bed rest... The four hours in the hospital seemed like days to me.

We visited Ellie's daycare again (LOVE IT), selected our pediatrician, and finished up our classes at the hospital.

I am fighting a major sinus infection, and had to use the after-hours call line for the first time today. They called in a prescription and instead of it putting me to sleep - I am WIDE AWAKE! So much for get all the rest you can before she arrives...

Special treat -- My mom and dad are over for a few days and it was great to do some pre-Christmas shopping with Mom! We had our annual Junior League Mistletoe Market and Ellie picked up some sweet Christmas clothes.

We go back to the doctor on Monday for our 37 week check-up. Hopefully we'll meet this precious miracle soon!

Birmingham Shower, Favorite Time of the Year, and Date Night

Yes, a lot of updates over the last week... I had an incredible shower in Birmingham and Ellie received so many thoughtful, and precious gifts. I am so excited about dressing her in all the outfits! She might be changing a few times a day :-) Thanks to my wonderful hostesses and all the guests. We love you all and appreciate you celebrating in the upcoming arrival of our little miracle!

Hostesses

Not a good picture of me, but this is Ellie's "going home from the hospital" outfit... Thanks Mom! I love it!

A little TTH reunion

My FAVORITE time of the year is finally here... weather wise! I love Fall, and everything that comes along with it - Auburn Football, Halloween and Thanksgiving, Crisp mornings, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and the smells of fall candles! My decorations are going up today, and might not come down for a while depending on when Ellie makes her debut.

We were able to have a date night last night, and it was wonderful! We went to the Melting Pot to celebrate one of our last few weekends as a couple. We ended up talking about Ellie most of the night, but it was great to celebrate over delicious food.

Ellie Update - She is doing great! We had an appointment on Monday, and another ultrasound on Thursday and she is measuring a few days ahead on the ultrasound and 2 weeks ahead on my belly measurement. Our doctor made the comment that he was comfortable with her arriving around 38 weeks... WHAT? That would be 3 weeks from now (not that 5 weeks is all that much longer)! We are finishing up last minute details in her room... her curtain went up last night!

We've had some GREAT childbirth classes and wrap those up next week. We have learned so much from the classes, and are so happy to decided to enroll in a few.
