Chuck E Cheese

Yesterday was pretty yucky so we took Ellie to Chuck E Cheese. She LOVED every second of it... There were only a few thousand people there.

From Froggie to Seahorse

Ellie received her level 3 (Frogs) ribbon today and has advanced to level 4 (Seahorse)! She doesn't really know what it means, but we sure are glad the lessons are paying off! She will be the youngest in her class (mostly 4 year olds), but they think she is ready. She LOVES the pool and asks to go everyday we get home from school.

We are so excited to be heading to the beach this week with friends. I am looking forward to long mornings, and late afternoons by the ocean!

Trips

In my new job, I will be traveling some to visit colleges and universities across the U.S. My partner and I try to see between 40-60 per year. I have seen a good many (mostly large publics) through my time with AU, but am now visiting small privates too. I did a trip the beginning of June in SC. We saw 12 colleges in 5 days as a group. This past week, I toured 10 colleges throughout NC in 4 days... with my Mom and ELLIE! We didn't know how it would go with a 2 1/2 year old - potty training. We had a few "moments" of reminding her who was in charge, but she did great! We moved hotels 3 times in the short time, and saw 2 - 3 colleges each day. She was a trooper! I am so thankful for my Mom and that she wanted to do this trip with me. The plan was for Ellie to stay home, until Jay had some last minute late meetings. We were ALL ready to get HOME last night. Here are a few pics from our trip, and Ellie's first visit to the Atlanta Zoo with Griffin.Potty Training Update - I am trying not to jinx myself typing this, but I think we are there! I now know when people say, "it will be so easy when they are ready". TRUE! She has done great on both "jobs", but does expect a surprise each time for the big jobs! We'll be broke soon. She is even staying dry overnight (did have an accident last night).

Confused

Don't understand the new blog format... My latest blog entry is under the Quick Trip one!

Quick Trip

We had a quick (less than 24 hours) trip to Andalusia this weekend to celebrate Cameron's 1st birthday. We love being at Pap's house and spending time with all the cousins.

We had to leave before the actual party due to an early flight to Charleston.. Ellie is already asking to go back to Pap's.

Trying to play catch up!

Life continues to move much faster than I expect. I can't believe we are in the middle of summer now. A few updates on the Henderson Family... New job - most of you know this, but I left Auburn to start a new job as an Independent College Counselor with Summit Counseling in Alpharetta. It was time for a change, and came at the perfect time! I am excited to work back at an office a few days a week, but am able to keep my flexibility for Ellie and Jay's schedules too. I have sent, and will continue to spend, some travel time visiting new colleges. Mom and I are off next week to NC and will see 10 schools in 4 days! I did a SC swing a few weeks back, and had a great time meeting new people and seeing what might be a great fit for our students! Ellie - is growing up way to fast. She is definitely a swimmer now, and loves the independence of swimming back and forth to us. She has no fear, and we are comfortable letting her jump in and swim on her own. She is by no means staying out in the middle for long periods of time. The swim lessons have definitely paid off this year! She is also loving "school". She ask me each morning if she can go to school to see her friends. She is talking non-stop and is asking a lot of "why" questions. Some make us laugh out loud. We are a week and half into really potty training, and only have pull-ups at night. She has been doing number 1 since Thanksgiving, but would not budge on number 2. FINALLY, we succeed last Monday. We are into bribing her at this point, so she has racked up a Cinderella dress; Doctor kit; my little pony; new DVDs; and LOTS of M&Ms. I can't believe she is growing up so fast! We took a quick and MUCH needed vacation to Pap's condo. My mom joined us and we soaked up every minute of rest, beach, pool, and delicious seafood!
Hope to post more in July!
