Ultrasound

We had a 3-D ultrasound and Ellie was a little stubborn. I think she may get this trait from her Daddy! She had her hands in her face most of the time, but we were able to get a few pictures. The ultrasound tech reconfirmed she was a girl (thank goodness), that she has some hair, and some chubby cheeks! She told us that in the last few weeks, she had two couples come in thinking they were having a girl and it was definitely a boy! They were both 30 weeks. We can't wait to meet this little miracle in less than 11 weeks!

Already prepared for Thanksgiving!

Ellie is already prepared for her first Thanksgiving! Thanks Lindsey for monogramming Ellie's precious outfit. She also did a couple of towels for our downstairs bathroom, and another outfit. I wish I had an ounce of creativity in me and I would definitely learn to sew. It seems so easy, and would save lots of money!

Also, thanks to my mom for making Ellie's shower curtain. We are slowly but surely getting the nursery together. The bed and dresser are in! I will post pictures once it's finished. I am definitely nesting...

New York

I love New York City! I had heard from so many people that I would, but I didn't get my hopes up too high. I flew up for a long weekend to celebrate our 5th anniversary and babymoon! NYC did not disappoint. We crammed a lot into the 3 days. I hit the traditional hot spots: Serendipity for Frozen Hot Chocolate, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Plaza, NBC, Dean&Deluca's, Central Park, H&M, China Town, Little Italy, Magnolia Bakery, Crumbs Bakery, and a Broadway Show. I could have stayed another week!

We had dinner at a great place, Apiary, on Friday night. This restaurant was near NYU, and was absolutely delicious!

I had two highlights for our trip...
Seeing Wicked - WONDERFUL show... and my anniversary gift - a new camera.

Jay really surprised me on this one. I usually have a way of figuring out my gifts. I love to figure them out, but then hate it's not a surprise (I know - weird). This time, I had no clue! I have been begging for this camera for a while... I call it a Mom-Camera b/c most mom's I know have one. When we got back from dinner on Thursday night, Jay asked me to grab something from his work bag. When I opened it, the camera was inside! I think I was in complete shock for a while... We spent the rest of Thursday night playing with the camera. So most of the pictures below are from my new Mom-Camera. I can't wait to use it for Ellie!

FRAME!!!

Here is some of Ellie's wall decor! I can't wait to get her nursery finished. This frame was made by Cortney McKinney. Please check out her work - Framed. She does amazing work.

Also, Ellie's bedding is in! I LOVE IT! As soon as the furniture arrives, I will post pictures of her nursery.

More tomorrow on our trip to New York!

28 week appointment

We had our 28 week (7 month) appointment on Monday. We had another ultrasound and were able to see our precious baby girl! She is measuring perfect and right on target for 28 weeks. Her estimated weight is 2 lbs 11 oz. This was more than I thought! I am in Auburn, so I can't scan the picture but she had her arm on her forehead the whole time. I will now go back every 2 weeks for ultrasounds.

Everything is moving right along... I've had a few low blood pressure episodes over the last few weeks. They don't seem too worried and think it's her position. It always happens when I am in the seated position and I have to immediately lay on my left side. It actually happened on the way to the doctor while we were waiting at the bank. It scares me a little to think it could happen while I am driving.

Our schedules are super crazy and busy right now. I have a feeling the next 12 weeks are going to fly by... Jay is traveling for work for the next month, and I kick off my busy season for work in a couple of weeks. I will spend morning, noon, and night at high schools and college fairs. I am going to try to work up until delivery... We'll see how I am feeling as that day draws closer.

We are taking our last trip as a couple this weekend! Jay is in NYC for work, and I am flying up on Thursday and spending the weekend. This will be my first trip to NYC and I am so excited. We are going to see Wicked, doing the Today Show, China Town, Little Italy, and who knows what else. I will post pictures when I return.

Ellie is one loved little girl!

Today was my first shower. My co-workers in Auburn had a shower for me and I am overwhelmed at their love and generosity. The precious cake was delicious and Ellie racked up on some much needed clothes and essentials! Last night was the first time I could feel a body part on the outside of my stomach. Still not sure what it was, but definitely a different feeling.

I am so excited about the next 3 months. We go back on Monday for our 7 month check-up and will be having another ultrasound! I can feel the tiredness creeping back into my day as the 3rd trimester draws near.

Now all we need is furniture, bedding, and Ellie of course! The Henderson's came up and helped us paint the nursery and bathroom this weekend. I was so excited with the finished product.

Beach Trip and Nursery Time!

We just got back from our annual beach trip to Sandestin... It was definitely hot, but so relaxing. We were by the pool most of the time, and only went to the beach one day. I am much more of a pool person. We missed Jon and the boys, but were entertained by Taylor, Ann Huett, and Millie. We have a lot of prepare for in the coming years!

Ellie is moving like crazy these days. We go back to the doctor in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and I am so excited. We have a lot to do in the next few weeks. My busy season starts now and ends when I deliver. Jay will be traveling the next month so we are trying to get a lot done in the next two weeks. We are painting the nursery this weekend... Still unsure exactly what we are doing. Was this stressful to anyone else but me? I can't even decide on what color I want. I think we are definitely going with a pink, but the shade is hard to decide. We put two pinks on the walls and one is definitely not it. We had an electrician come today so we could install a ceiling fan. I cleaned out her closet and hung up all the clothes she's accumulated! So exciting to see things she'll be wearing in a few short months.

We are taking a baby-moon/anniversary trip in a couple of weeks to New York. I am so excited b/c I have never been. I am guessing this will be our last trip as a couple!

I have a few showers coming up and I am so excited. I will update next week after my first one!
