Well, tomorrow is the big day! We are finding out what we are having (hopefully). I have a fear that the baby won't cooperate and we won't be able to find out. I have been told by several to drink a Coke or Dr. Pepper before the appointment so the baby will be awake. I think I can manage that. I am still going with my original prediction of a girl. Most people I have talked to or seen are going with boy. I will be excited either way! I grew up with 2 older brothers and have always wanted a boy first. I have now convinced myself that it's a girl.
I hope I sleep better tonight... Last night was rough with only 3 hours of sleep... I hope the next 20 weeks are not sleepless nights. I've heard to get all the rest you can when your pregnant b/c you won't sleep much when the baby is here.

The last few weeks...
More than 1 person mentioned to me that my blog has not been updated, so I figured I fill everyone in on the last few weeks. Between 16 - 19 weeks, there is really not much to blog about... I am definitely showing now and am excited you can tell I am preggo and not just gaining some weight. I will probably regret thinking that this is considered showing. I know it is going to get bigger (and better) in the weeks to come. I can't believe it is almost half-way over. This has been so easy for me, and I hope the next 20 weeks are this easy too. I have been very lucky not to have any sickness, haven't been too tired, and am still enjoying working out. My cravings/aversions haven't been too bad either. I am really stuck on Nachos from the gas station right now. I know this is gross, but they are so good!
Things we are doing:
1. Looking at furniture. We have been to one place, and going to another one before next week. We love the dark cherry or espresso and are set on doing the conversion bed. I would love any feedback on baby furniture. This is definitely more expensive that I thought.
2. Looking for bedding... This is kind-of hard to do when you don't know what you are having yet. We've picked out (let me take that back, I have picked out and Jay has either agreed or disagreed) several patterns. I like the custom stuff so hopefully I can narrow this down in the next few weeks.
3. Organizing what to register for. THANK YOU to all the moms out there that I have emailed about what you liked/didn't like when you registered. I really appreciate your feedback! I am going to break my registry into 2 parts. We are hoping to register for all non-gender stuff this week/weekend, and then finish up after we find out.
4. Deciding on daycares/nannies for next year. As of right now, I am planning on working once the baby comes. This could totally change, but I LOVE my job and LOVE the flexibility of it. I don't know that I could stay home, but again this could all change. I can't believe that I was touring facilities at 16 weeks and didn't even know what I was having. We are on several lists and are hoping not to start paying before we need it. This could be a possibility at our favorite place.
5. I also started a prenatal Yoga class that I love! It's once a week, and hope this will help in the soon to be pains that others in the class are experiencing. We have one lady that is due in 3 weeks, and she looks and feels great! I hope I am still there at 37 weeks.
6. FINDING OUT WHAT WE ARE HAVING!!! We are so excited that we will be finding out next Tuesday. Both families are coming over and the Mom's are going into the ultrasound with us. I will definitely update after next Tuesday! What do you think??? Boy or Girl? I have had so many mixed responses on what I am having... The majority thinks boy.

16 weeks
We had our 16 week appointment today. We met with a doctor that we really liked. He spent a lot of time with us even though they were running way behind schedule. He discussed our genetic testing from the 12 week appointment, and said everything was in normal range - Hooray! We heard the heartbeat (143 this time)... Much lower than I expected. The neat part was that we heard a few kicks while he was monitoring the heartbeat. He said we have an active baby and I should be feeling him/her move sometime soon!
Big news was he updated my due date to November 11th instead of November 9th...
We go back in 4 weeks (June 23rd) to find out what we are having. I am still going with my girl prediction, but we'll see.
Off to the beach for a bachelorette party this weekend... I can't wait to see my favorite girls, get some sun, and be the best DD ever!

Likes and Dislikes with my pregnancy
I thought I would give you a quick rundown of what I am liking (craving), and what I am disliking (food aversion) during my pregnancy... some things have surprised me.
LIKES!!!
#1 - Salt and Vinegar Chips
YUM!!! This is probably my favorite thing to snack on right now!

#2 - Chinese Food
I am loving Hot and Sour Soup

#3 - Cheez Its and Pickles... together
I know this might sound strange, but I love eating these two together

#4 - Popsicles - The cheap ones that you buy in the bag and freeze!

#5 - Fresh Fruit - Watermelon is definitely my favorite!

DISLIKES
#1 - Chicken Parm - This used to be one of my favorite foods, but now thinking about it makes me gag. I hope this comes back after November!

#2 - Seafood - especially fish - GAG!

#3 - French Onion Dip - I used to eat this by the jar...

#4 - Chicken Enchiladas - We went to dinner this weekend b/c I was craving Chicken Enchilada's and once they arrived I took one bite and was done.

I hope someone else out there has experienced the crazy pregnancy food likes and dislikes!
I also took advantage of my prenatal massage and it was FABULOUS! She recommends one every 4 weeks... We'll see if that happens!

Mother's Day and a Busy Week!
Happy Mother's Day to everyone with little ones (or with little ones on the way)! Jay surprised me with my "first" Mother's Day gift this morning... A prenatal massage! I can't wait to use this wonderful gift. I also want to wish my mom a very special Mother's Day. I pray for God to bless my children as she has blessed my brothers and me. I don't know of anyone with a sweeter spirit and kinder heart. I love you Mom!
We had a pretty busy week with 2 band shows, a trip to Birmingham to meet my new niece, and a wedding. We were able have a short visit with my sweet baby niece, Millie during her big sister's ballet recital. Ann Huett did a great job!
Baby Henderson is definitely going to be on the go most of the pregnancy. I also wanted to post a few pictures of our first gifts for our new addition!
I hope you all have a great week!

13 weeks and Ultrasound Update
Today we had our 12 week (really 13 for us) appointment. This was a long appointment with a lot of information. We first had another ultrasound, and this time it was AMAZING! It really looks more like a human now. At 8 weeks, I couldn't tell what the specific body parts were. Today, I could tell what was what without the tech pointing things out to us... The baby was very active, and heartbeat was strong at 167. I have thought we were having a girl the whole time and now am even more confident with the high heart rate. The ultrasound tech says the heartbeat numbers do not signify gender, but my gut is still going with girl.
We met with another doctor in the practice and she said everything looks great. She thinks I have passed the "morning sickness" time and am home free w/o any sickness. Praise the Lord! I had a lot of blood drawn for some genetics testing and should have the results at my next appointment. Please pray for everything to be okay!
We go back the end of May for 16 weeks, and June 23rd for the 20 week ultrasound! At our 20 week ultrasound is when we find out what we are having.
Have a good week and enjoy the pictures!
